£50,000 funding launches ...forThetford
The Thetford Pride in Place Board has announced the launch of a new £50,000 Community Support Fund, alongside plans for a further £200,000 Project Fund to support larger, strategic initiatives later this year.
The Community Support Fund, launched on 02 February in partnership with the Norfolk Community Foundation (opens new window), offer grants of up to £10,000 to local voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. The fund is designed to support grassroots projects that make a tangible difference to people's lives, strengthen local communities and contribute to pride of place across Thetford.
At its first Board meeting of 2026, members also agreed to establish a £200,000 Project Fund to support larger-scale projects that directly align with Thetford's 10-Year Regeneration Plan. This fund is expected to launch in spring when the Plan receives formal approval from Central Government.
Together, the two funds reflect the Board's commitment to combining early, visible investment in community-led activity with a longer-term programme of transformational projects that respond to what residents have said matters most to them.
The Regeneration Plan sets out clear priorities for Thetford, including strengthening community organisations, regenerating the town centre and riverside, investing in skills and education, celebrating heritage and culture, improving neighbourhoods, and enhancing connectivity. The new funding streams will help turn that vision into action, starting with vital local groups already making a difference in the town.
Jo Pearson, Chair of the Thetford Pride in Place Board, said:
"This is about backing Thetford's communities now, while also preparing for the bigger, long-term projects that will shape the town's future.
The Community Support Fund will help local organisations deliver real benefits on the ground, particularly for residents who need it most. At the same time, the forthcoming Project Fund will enable us to invest in ambitious, well-developed projects that align with our 10-year vision for Thetford.
This is a clear signal that Pride in Place is moving from planning into delivery - by Thetford, for Thetford."
Information about the Project Fund will follow once the Regeneration Plan has been approved by Government.
